Experiences
Graduate Teaching Assistant, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, McMaster University.
Research Assistant, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, McMaster University (September 2020 - present)
Research Assistant, University of Toronto (September 2019 - August, 2020)
Gradient compression in federated learning.
Research Associate, Carleton University (May, 2019 - August, 2019)
Investigating the feasibility of machine learning algorithms on compressively (deterministic) sensed data. The objective was to investigate the impact on accuracy at various compression levels. Images from MNIST database were used along with deterministic sensing matrix for compression.
Graduate Research Assistant, Department of Systems and Computer Engineering, Carleton University
(September 2017- April 2019)
My work was primarily based on improving signal quality during reconstruction of segmentation-based compressive signal acquisition. I investigated a Kronecker-based recovery technique by exploiting the freedom of basis selection in the during recovery. The application included quality improvement of multiple 1-D signals (acquired in smaller segments using the principles of compressive sensing). The technique was further extended to 2-D signal processing and an aspect ratio preserving compression framework was developed. Further investigation included signal processing in the compressed domain, without the need to perform sparse recovery. Details are available in Research Outline.
